Chatham, VA - A Danville police officer was charged with being in contempt of court Monday in connection with the trial involving the suspected driver in a crash that killed a 21-year-old Danville man in April.
Pittsylvania County General District Court Judge George A. Jones found Lindsay Gilbert, of Ringgold, in contempt of court when she failed to show up as a witness in the trial against Henry County Sheriff's Deputy Calvin Easley Jr.
Easley faces a reckless driving charge in connection with a fatal automobile crash that occurred on Little Creek Road on April 17. Carl Andrew Turner, 21, died two days later at Duke University Medical Center as a result of the accident
